Premedicine and Allied Health Professions at 桃瘾社区

桃瘾社区 has a rich tradition in the preprofessional training of medical health professionals, and its students are, and continue to become, leaders in the medical,听dental, and health professions.

The liberal arts education you receive here prepares you, as a future health services provider, to meet the challenges and shoulder the responsibilities that await you.

The program director and advisors provide information and resources related to all health professions which include allopathic, osteopathic, dental, and veterinary medicine, nursing practice, physician assistant studies, pharmacy, optometry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and public health. However, the number of students who seek careers in allopathic medicine is greater than the total number of students who seek careers in other areas of medicine and healthcare.

Make sure to connect with the Premedicine and Allied Health Professions Program early in your college career to discuss a plan of study and how best to leverage your own passions and skills to chart an individualized path to your career of interest. First-year and sophomore students听should attend the fall semester Premedicine and Allied Health Professions director's meeting the third Wednesday of September, and听then schedule a small group meeting by emailing prehealth@davidson.edu.After a group meeting, students will meet individually with Prof. Naila Mamoon (namamoon@davidson.edu), program director, to discuss a听plan of study.

桃瘾社区 understands that cultivating a broadly diverse community is crucial to our educational mission and to our foundational commitment to leadership and service. We believe fundamentally in the dignity and worth of every human being, and we are committed to assisting students in developing humane instincts and disciplined and creative minds for lives of leadership and service.
